On Saturday 19 October 2019, Dilip Sarkar will be providing two illustrated lectures at the IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire, signing books – and most importantly gifting an extremely precious item to the IWM….

The first presentation marks the Battle of Arnhem’s 75th anniversary, relating some of the deeply moving stories of casualties included in Dilip’s new book, ‘Arnhem 1944: The Human Tragedy of the Bridge Too Far’. This will be a similar to the acclaimed presentation Dilip delivered at the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, Oosterbeek, receiving a standing ovation led by Sophie Lambrechtsen-ter Horst and Dr Robert Voskuil.
Secondly, Dilip will present on the inspirational Squadron Leader Brian Lane DFC and 19 Squadron during the Battle of Britain period, this being the subject of his other new book, ‘Spitfire!’.
Afterwards, Dilip will be presenting Brian’s silver cigarette case to the IWM.
Dilip will be available throughout the day to sign copies of both books.
