IWM Duxford, 19 October 19

An early heads-up….

On Saturday 19 October 2019, Dilip Sarkar will be providing two illustrated lectures at the IWM Duxford, Cambridgeshire, signing books – and most importantly gifting an extremely precious item to the IWM….

The first presentation marks the Battle of Arnhem’s 75th anniversary, relating some of the deeply moving stories of casualties included in Dilip’s new book, ‘Arnhem 1944: The Human Tragedy of the Bridge Too Far’. This will be a similar presentation to those Dilip will give on 18 September 2019 at the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, Oosterbeek, and on 20 September 2019 at The Airborne At The Bridge annex of the Airborne Museum, hard-by Arnhem Bridge, which features an exhibition based on the book.

Secondly, Dilip will present on his other new book, ‘Spitfire!’, telling the highly detailed story of 19 Squadron 1938-41, and focussing on the inspirational Squadron Leader Brian Lane DFC.

Afterwards, Dilip will be presenting Brian’s silver cigarette case to the IWM.

Dilip will be available throughout the day to sign copies of both books.

Full details and timings to follow…
